Tour Overview

This is a short but very special safari designed for guests who want to experience the wildebeest calving season in Ndutu with comfort and less travel time. The safari includes a scenic flight from Arusha to Ndutu, giving you more time in the wild and less time on the road.

You will explore the Ndutu plains, part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and close to the southern Serengeti National Park, where thousands of wildebeest give birth. This attracts strong predator action including lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and leopards.

Day 1: Fly Arusha – Ndutu Area

After breakfast, our team will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and transfer you to Arusha Airport for your short scenic flight (about 50 minutes) to the Ndutu area. From the air, you will see the beauty of Tanzania, including lakes, plains, and wildlife movements.

Upon landing, your guide will welcome you and take you on a game drive straight into the Ndutu plains. You will already start seeing wildebeest herds, zebras, and possibly predators like lions or cheetahs.

We deliver the experience by taking you slowly into the best wildlife areas based on animal movement. In the afternoon, you enjoy your first bush experience before heading to camp

Today is a full exploration of the Ndutu plains. After breakfast, you will go for a full-day game drive across open grasslands, woodlands, and lake areas.

You will see thousands of wildebeest and zebra, and during calving season, many newborn calves. This attracts predators such as lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and sometimes leopards.

Your guide will use experience and communication with other guides to find the best action areas. We deliver your experience with flexible game drives, bush lunch in a safe location, and time to enjoy wildlife without rush. In the evening, you return to camp for dinner and relaxation.

After breakfast, you enjoy a morning game drive in Ndutu before heading to the central Serengeti  (Seronera area). Along the way, you may see large migration herds moving across the plains.

This is a very rich wildlife area. You may encounter lions resting under trees, leopards hiding in branches, cheetahs hunting, elephants walking freely, and large herds of wildebeest and zebras. For a special experience, we offer an optional hot air balloon safari (at extra cost), where you see the Serengeti from the sky at sunrise.

We continue with game drives and a bush lunch in the wild before arriving at your camp in the evening.

After breakfast, you enjoy a short morning game drive around Serengeti before starting your journey back. You may still see elephants, giraffes, lions, or large herds of wildebeest depending on movement.

You have two options today for return:

  • Option 1: Drive back to Arusha (scenic journey through Tanzania landscapes, villages, and views of the Great Rift Valley)
  • Option 2: Optional flight from Serengeti airstrip to Arusha Airport for faster and more comfortable travel (extra cost)

Upon arrival in Arusha, we transfer you to your hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight.

This marks the end of your safari with unforgettable memories of the calving season and the wild beauty of Tanzania.
